| Mob Types Ancient Core Hound Core Hounds are not static and roam on specific paths through the instance. Their frontal bite attack is an AoE for 800+ damage. These will stop respawning once Magmadar is killed. Ancient Core Hounds respawn every 18 minutes. Very large aggro radius Cast AoE in 180 degree Radius (dispel fire resist debuff ASAP) Stomp – Area of Effect (AoE) attack with a 10-yard radius Strategy: Keep the mob facing away from the group and mana users out of AoE range. Move to and control adds ASAP. Dispell any AoE on the tank and do not steal aggro. Core Hound Packs These packs are found between Lucifron (one pull before) and Magmadar. These (5) need to all die in a 10-second span or they will respawn immediately. Once defeated they will not respawn. Normal attacks hit for 800ish on plate Knockback – send the target airborne and does 500ish damage Stomp – Area of Effect (AoE) attack with a 10-yard radius Strategy: Five tanks are needed for this encounter (Paladins or Druids in Bear as substitutes). Hunters and warriors will pull each of the selected hounds to them and group up with all the mob facing inwards. All mobs should be AoE’d together after being securely grouped. Melee doing single target damage need to switch targets often in order to even out the health level of the hounds. Firelord Firelords have multiple attacks that make them dangerous and create Lava Spawns during the encounter. The Lava Spawns need to be killed quickly as they split often and can wipe a group. Once defeated they will respawn in 2.5 hours. Normal attacks for 500 elemental damage Can debuff target and others with multiple spells Has a 4000hp damage over time spell that also silences the target Can summon Lava Spawns that need to be killed ASAP Kill any Lava Spawns as they are summoned. All melee need to focus attacks on the spawns to keep them from splitting. Keep spawns near the boss and have mages cast Blizzard as it does double damage on them. Flame Imps Flame Imps are located in the cavern just before Lucifron and are difficult to pull. They do a lot of fire damage and must be AoE’d. Once defeated they will respawn in approximately (8) minutes ß YES, that fast! Need massive AoE to succeed Lots of fire damage Strategy: A Paladin who can bubble or a mage who can ice block will pull the first group (others can be bypassed if everyone is level 60). AoE once the puller is “safe.” Lava Annihilator Lava Annihilators are stone elementals that change targets frequently. They don’t do a lot of damage and rarely stay with a single target for very long. Lava Annihilators respawn after (2) hours. 600 damage attack Aggro cannot be held with any consistency Strategy: Have all tanks taunt continually… its all you can do. Unload DPS. Lava Packs These groups of mobs will be encountered after Garr. They consist of two different packs. The first includes a Lava Reaver, a Flameguard and a Firewalker. The second consists of two Lava Elementals, a Flameguard and a Firewalker. Once defeated they will respawn in 2-hours Lava Reaver – Stone elemental that has a frontal cleave and can be banished Flameguard – Has an AoE debuff and an Inferno spell Firewalker – Can cast 3000 damage fireballs and has an AoE fire debuff (very dangerous) Lava Elemental – Stone elemental that has a dangerous stun/debuff and can be banished Strategy: Warlocks banish stone elementals after initial aggro. Warriors pick up the Flameguard to offtank. The RAID DPS focus’s on the Firewalker and then moves to the Flameguard and banishes. Fire resist gear is VERY important for these encounters. Lava Surger Lava Surgers are stone elementals that have a tendency to charge a second target. They path at a high rate of speed and need to be watched for respawn. They are BANISHABLE. Lava Surgers respawn after 30 minutes. 800 damage attack Picks the furthest person on the aggro list and surges to them doing an AoE knockback on everyone in the immediate vicinity for 1000 damage. Strategy: Everyone MUST be on top of the mob. This includes ALL casters/healers/melee. If ANYONE is out of the range, a knockback will affect everyone. Molten Giant Molten Giants come in pairs and graduate to Molten Destroyers with progress through the instance. Once defeated they will not respawn. Normal attacks hit for 800ish on plate Knockback – send the target airborne and does 500ish damage Stomp – Area of Effect (AoE) attack with a 10-yard radius Strategy: Main Tank (MT) and off tank (OT) split the two giants. Hunters will be assigned to pull the giants to their respective tanks. Each tank will have a healing group. Do NOT DPS until there are (3) sunders. Drop DPS on knockback of tank until aggro is regained.

| Lucifron Health: TEST – Mana: TEST Reputation: Lucifron is the first boss in Molten Core and is accompanied by two Flamewalker Protectors. He is considered one of the easier bosses in the zone. Abilities Dominate Mind (Flamewalker) – Mind control that should be dispelled immediately Impending Doom – AoE magic debuff that does 2000 damage after 10-seconds – should be dispelled immediately. Lucifron’s Curse – Curse that increases mana cost of spells by 100% - should be decursed by a mage/druid immediately Strategy The first Core Hound Pack will be eliminated to access Lucifron and his guards safely. Two hunters will be slated to pull the flamewalkers and, if necessary, soak up the mind control. Two priests will be on duty initially to dispel the mind control immediately. Three tanks will be needed to tank Lucifron and each of the flamewalkers. Do NOT go near the entry cave as the Imps and Surger WILL AGGRO AND WIPE THE GROUP The MT should pick up Lucifron early and keep him in the upper cove. Positioning is important to keep the raid from being debuffed. A group of healers will be assigned to the MT for healing and dispel/decurse. Another group will be assigned to dispel/decurse the group. It is important to remove Impending Doom and Lucifrons Curse ASAP. Additionally, we will have mana drain going on Lucifron by a hunter while he is being off tanked. The OT’s should keep the Flamewalkers out of sight of Lucifron tight against the right side of the cave. The group will take down one flamewalker and then another. It is important that a couple of paladins be slated to judge each mob being killed and Lucifron for the group to gain health/mana. DPS will switch to Lucifron after the two flamewalkers are dead. Summary Hunters aggro each Flamewalker MT aggro Lucifron and take him to upper cove Healing Group for MT Healing Group for RAID Dispel/Decurse for MT Dispel/Decurse group for RAID Kill each Flamewalker Kill Lucifron Loot http://www.wowhead.com/?npc=12118

| Magmadar Health: 750,000hp Reputation: 100 Hydraxian Warlords Magmadar is located in the same cave as Lucifron and is guarded by multiple Core Hound Packs. He is similar in appearance to The Beast in Upper Blackrock Spire except for his enormous size. When he is killed, the pathing Ancient Core Hounds and Core Hound Packs will no longer respawn. Abilities Lava Bomb – He will occasionally shoot a blast of lava at a single person that does 3000+ damage and leaves a DoT in the area – Move away from the impact point Panic – He will cast an AoE fear on all those within 30 yards. The MT must stance dance if fear ward is not available Lava Breath – A frontal AoE cone of fire that deals 1200-1400 damage to all those affected Magma Spit – Stacking DoT that does 120+ damage every 3 seconds Frenzy – He will enrage every 30-ish seconds and start doing considerably more damage – Hunters will hit him with Tranquilizing Shot to eliminate this effect. Strategy With proper positioning, this is a very straightforward fight. The MT needs to be fear warded or stance dance to avoid Magmadar’s Panic. Panic on the MT will most likely wipe the RAID. MT healers need to be at MAXIMUM range (38+ yards). The MT will aggro Magmadar and keep him facing forward (to keep the tank closer to healing). Healers will get in position at maximum range. Melee DPS will stand behind and to the sides of Magmadar to avoid the frontal cone AoE Lava Breath. Melee DPS will be responsible for bandaging as they will be out of range of healing – step back and bandage when you can/need. All casters should be at maximum range to avoid being feared. Make sure you move from the Lava Bomb spot when it hits but do not get closer to Magmadar. Stealing aggro from the MT is almost a guaranteed wipe – don’t do it!!! Summary MT to aggro and not get feared Healers get in Range MT to lock position of Magmadar for entire fight Melee DPS from behind DPS gets in range ** WATCH YOUR THREAT METER ** Hunters to remove Frenzy when present Loot http://www.wowhead.com/?npc=11982 All Tier 1 leggings drop from Magmadar Magmadar can be skinned

| Gehennas Health: TEST Reputation: 100 Hydraxian Waterlords Gehennas is located just past the entrance tunnel leading to Ragnaros. He is humanoid in the form of a Naga similar to Lucifron. The surrounding area must be clear in order to take him down with the right spacing. Abilities for Gehennas Rain of Fire – A small radius rain of fire that does 1000-1200 damage every 2 seconds for 6 seconds. You must move out of it IMMEDIATELY. Shadow Bolt – He will randomly target a player and hit them for 2000+ Curse – Reduces the affects of healing by 75% for 5 minutes Abilities for Flamewalkers Sunder Armor – Reduces armor by 1k per sunder and stacks up to 20 times AoE Stun – Small radius stun lasting 4 seconds Strategy The entire area must be cleared in order to have proper spacing and reduce the number of curses that Gehennas can place on players. Gehennas will be tanked a bit north of his spawn spot. The tank will have dedicated decurse and healing. The two flamewalkers will be tanked south of Gehennas adjacent to the freestanding column and be separated in order to minimize the impact of AoE. A hunter puller will be grouped with each tank to lure the flamewalkers away from Gehennas. The flamewalkers will be taken down in sequence and then the DPS group will move on to Gehennas. Gehennas does a lot of melee damage on tanks. Healing and decursing will be very important. Melee DPS should be behind Gehennas and ensure that aggro remains on the MT. Healing will need to stay at the 40 yard perimeter and step into range for decurse. Shadow protection here is helpful and fire spells do almost nothing to Gehennas and his flamewalkers.
Do NOT stay bunched up surrounding Gehennas to help avoid the Rain of Fire spell. Move from area immediately if he casts this on your group. Summary MT to aggro Gehennas and have dedicated healing/decurse Two OT’s to handle flamewalker adds pulled by hunters DPS Flamewalkers DPS Gehennas Loot http://www.wowhead.com/?npc=12259 Gehennas drops the Tier 1 hands for each class Gehennas also drops the Hand of Gehennas, an item for the quest Hands of the Enemy.
